I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.John 15:1 (NIV)
Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.Deuteronomy 32:2 (NIV)
Botanists study myriad varieties of flora, even geologists classify different soils and rocks. Matters don’t happen randomly. God is the great gardener and we see it both supernaturally and through splendid nature.
In the beginning He gathered earth, breathed life into humanity to flourish the Garden of Eden, and prepared the seed of salvation. In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was pressed with agony yet submitted Himself to death penalty; His sweat fell as blood on earth. On the third day in the tomb garden Christ has risen – the grain falling on earth died to bear fruit. In eternal paradise Jesus sits on the throne, giving exuberant brilliance to all creation.
Our tending Father, life on earth may degenerate but in You is ever increasing. Let the beauty and fragrance of Your works via creation and the cross draw men’s heart to the great Gardener, the Wonder above all wonders. In Jesus’ Glorious Name, Amen.
