As believers, young and old, we will all at some point in our lives grow tired and may stumble. Isaiah said that “even youth grow tired and weary...but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength”. Caleb of Jephunneh was 40 years old when Moses sent him to spy on the promised land. He was able to stay strong and vigorous at the age of 85 because he followed God wholeheartedly. Paul said that even if our outward appearance is wasting away, we don’t need to lose heart because inwardly God is renewing us day by day. Like flowers and grass, our time on earth is short so we ought to live wisely and use every opportunity to do God’s will, honouring Him with our lives.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are the Vine through which we draw our strength to bear fruit. Help us to follow You wholeheartedly like Caleb and grant us the wisdom of Your Spirit to serve You faithfully. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
