The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.John 10:3 (NIV)
During the transhumance, shepherds move their flocks together from one grazing ground to another. Although the flocks have been mingled together, each flock is able to differentiate and recognise its own shepherd's voice and follow accordingly.
It is the same with God. We need to learn and practice how to recognise His voice and follow only His voice. No other voice can lead us to the right place and keep us safe.
Thank You, Father, that Jesus is our Shepherd. Lord Jesus, bless us as we learn to recognise Your voice, Your leading and Your protection in our life. Teach us to follow You and to be faithful to the calling You gave us. Let us hear only Your voice and Your calling. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
