Doves are able to adapt and survive in just about any climate. Doves have no gallbladder to produce bile, the bitter fluid in their body. As followers of Christ, we shouldn’t have bitterness in us. Our motives should be pure. We are called to be prudent in action and in discernment so as to prevent needless suffering in our lives, while also showing the love of our Lord. Doves teach us that regardless of external circumstances, peace is always possible and available to us. Evil may oppose us, but we can overcome it with good.
Dear God, thank You for the many things we can learn from the doves. Create in me a pure heart that I might know and live Your ways, and witness to those who do not know You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
