Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised.

A relationship that still remains together after weathering storms and wilderness experiences is grounded and rooted in love, and it bears characteristics of love described in 1 Corinthians 13.
Love that originates from God, for God, is love. We praise God that while we were still sinners, His enemies, though helpless and ungodly, God demonstrated His love for them by sending His Son to die for all our sins so that we are made righteous in Christ Jesus, as in Romans 5:6-10. Because of His divine Spirit in us, love extends through us as we walk in Him. His steadfast love never fails, in fact, how much more will He do for us. Nothing can separate us from His love and the love of Christ, as we are promised in Romans 8:35, 38-39. What a blessed assurance we have in Him.
