On that night the king could not sleep. And he gave orders to bring the book of memorable deeds, the chronicles, and they were read before the king.

It may seem unfair that when you do good, you don’t get rewarded. This may be part of God’s bigger plan, and we must remain faithful to God and to praise God as God has everything under control. God always has a plan for those He loves and His plans can never be thwarted. His plans will be revealed in time as we remain faithful to Him. This is what happened to Mordecai where he did good by saving King Ahasuerus from assassination but wasn’t rewarded. Mordecai remained faithful to God by not bowing down to Haman, who was favoured by King Ahasuerus. In the end, Haman’s evil plan was thwarted when God showed the King what Mordecai did and honoured him (Esther 6).
Father in Heaven, thank You that you are in control of everything, and that when we experience unfairness, help us to remain faithful to You. I thank you that You are working in the background for our good and that all will be revealed in Your time and not ours. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
