For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Mordecai knew God. He had the faith that God was going to save his people and with this in mind he challenged Esther to carry out a difficult task. If she remained silent, God would deliver His people another way and Esther would have lost an opportunity to be used by God in His unfolding plan of redemption. Mordecai knew God was going to be faithful to His covenant and promises.
Let us be ready and willing like Esther was to carry out the work that God has prepared for us, even when the task seems dangerous or daunting. For who knows whether we have been put in a particular place and time to be a part of God’s redemptive plan.
Heavenly Father, help us to do what is righteous in Your eyes. Help us to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit so that we do not miss an opportunity to be used by You for Your glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
