For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Esther 4:14 (ESV)
Esther was requested to rescue her people, the Jews, from death. However, she was afraid because if she were to intervene, she would put her own life at risk. In the end, Esther got over her fear and trusted God. She obeyed God and knew He had promoted her to be queen for a reason. She had the courage and wisdom to fulfil her purpose. This tested her faith, and God was working all things for good in her situation.
Just like Esther, we may have doubt and fear to do God’s work. God doesn’t need us to accomplish His plan, but asks us to participate in His plans because it strengthens our faith. Your calling might look different from those around you, but you’ve been gifted and called for a purpose. He will be with you every step of the way. We can trust Him and count on Him.
Dear Lord, thank You for helping us to stand up for what is good and righteous, despite our fears. We want to do what is right in Your eyes and to obey You. May we always be sensitive to Your calling and ready to serve others in need. To You be the praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
