And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. When we worship the Lord and declare that “Jesus is the centre of our lives”, not only is He our focus, but we also love Him and appreciate His purpose and plan for us. We are willing to let go of our own will to follow Jesus. Why? Because Jesus is the only bridge between us and God; through His death on the cross, we are redeemed and saved. We could spend our days chasing after wealth, power, and more, but ultimately it is the love, faith and hope from Christ that points humanity to a better place. Jesus deserves all the glory and without Him, we cannot experience the fullness of God and find true and everlasting peace in our soul.
Father God, make us the instrument of Your peace, bringing God’s love and hope to others, especially to those whose spirits are in vain. Jesus came 2,000 years ago to deliver us from the dead and evil. Lead us in bringing unity, love and peace among Your people today out of joy, rather than fear or duty. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
