Whenever God speaks, the world shifts. Wherever Jesus went, people were transformed. From His power and dominion alone, He deserves to be called master! Yet as His redeemed, He wants us to call Him “husband”. This closeness He desires with us despite our unfaithfulness is unimaginable apart from the realisation of His boundless love for us, crossed with His righteousness and justice. Simply because He is Love, He continues even when we default on Him repeatedly. If I have truly understood this, I would want to honour my vow to Him and carry His heart into every area of my life, and then people will know they can have this relationship with Him too! I would see so much revival happening because I’d always be with Jesus!
My “husband” Jesus, awake the sleeper in me! You broke the chains that bound me. You are gentle and powerful. You have sent me into the darkness, but I fear no evil because Your light and holy presence lives in me. Let me not wander around searching for fulfillment only You bring in full. Let me desire more of You and Your heaven on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
