And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy.
Hosea 2:19 (ESV)
God is proposing to His followers a deep relationship like husband and wife. Through this verse, God is telling us that He will be there all the time for us. We found this promise again in Matthew 28:20, “…And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” God is always with us in the good and bad; He is faithful.
As we are sent by Him to carry His message, it is good to know that He is with us, full of love and compassion, so we can bring His message and promises of relationship to the world. Through this promise, He is giving us confidence in our mission and empower us to bring the same promise to the unreached people. They will experience the same love and relationship with God. Then it will be their turn to become His disciples to be sent to the world.
Lord, thank You for promises of deep relationship with You that give us confidence to go for missions and to share Your love with people so that many will receive it and be transformed in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
