The Bible is very clear on our purpose as Christians: we are called to make people to be more like Christ through bringing them to God and discipleship. This is the great mission God has called and sent each of us. Some of us are sent within our sphere of influence, others are called to serve our cities, and some are sent to nations far and wide. Regardless of where we are sent, we are to be the light for those who have never yet heard of Jesus. Though this may sound daunting, the Holy Spirit will guide and empower us to shine our light wherever we are and have the boldness to proclaim the Good News to our respective surroundings. Let your light shine through simple things like praying for someone who needs it or speaking encouraging words to them!
Heavenly Father, we are privileged to be called to know You personally and to be sent into our environment. Thank You Holy Spirit for filling and empowering us, and I pray that through this we can be a light that shines in the darkness and guide people to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
