As a prisoner for the Lord, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Ephesians 4:1-2
Thank God for His call to restore my relationship with Him through Christ in 2000. The "wise" me then enjoyed a prominent role in the marketplace and wondered why I needed God. However, someone blessed me with a prayer and I started researching the Bible. Wisdom is truly in His Word (Romans 1:18-32). Now, I always tear up because of my past "foolishness".
Jesus commands us to love God and others (Matthew 22:37-40). God desires us to be more like Jesus
(1 Peter 2:21). In the course of life's disappointments and challenges, I keep serving where He puts me, that He weaves these experiences into my life, trusting that "in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him" (Romans 8:28). This strengthens my faith tremendously.
Not all of us are called to full time pastoral roles; many are fulfilling vocations in the marketplace or as homemakers. Yet, the great commission for us is "to be witnesses of the gospel" (Matthew 28:18-20).
Thus, my motto is "You cannot truly miss your calling unless you miss the One who called you."
Lord, help me to exhibit a godly character, to live a life pleasing to You and worthy of Your divine calling. Amen. In Jesus's name. Amen.
