Go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them...
Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)
Jesus' final command to His disciples before ascending to heaven was to make disciples. However, to fulfil this command, we must first be disciples ourselves. It is through the power and authority from our Saviour that we are able to go forth and be His messengers. Today's passage shows us that even some of Jesus' disciples had doubts. It was natural to doubt Him and His commands as they were just human beings. Yet, despite their doubts, Jesus wanted them to boldly proclaim His love and sacrifice to all, assuring them that they are not alone.
For us, as we obey, it naturally becomes our lifestyle to make disciples and teach others about Jesus as the Son of God and the Saviour of the world. Jesus is with us as we go, tell, and make disciples, living lives that reflect His Grace.
Lord, thank You for strengthening us to do Your work. Help us to be obedient as we walk with You in our daily lives, that Your name will be glorified in us. I thank You and I pray in the victorious name of
Jesus, Amen!
