Jesus called his disciples to gather around and then said to them, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given a larger offering than any of the wealthy. For the rich only gave out of their surplus, but she sacrificed out of her poverty and gave to God all that she had to live on, which was everything she had."

This widow gave all she had to live on, in contrast to the way most of us handle our money; we give out of our abundance. As believers, we should consider increasing our giving -whether of money, time, or talents -to a point beyond convenience or calculation. The value of a gift should not be determined not by the amount. Each of us should give what we have decided in our hearts, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. The Bible teaches that when we give generously out of love for God, you tap into the very source of God's blessings or God's wealth.
Another blessing I find in giving generously is that you will receive more than you give. It means you cannot out give God. Giving is a joy and a privilege. Do you have a joy of giving?
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Lord Jesus, help me to be faithful in my giving and help me to give out of love for You not out of abundance. In Jesus' name. Amen.
