Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up.
Exodus 40:36-37 (ESV)
As a loving father protects his children to the best of his ability, our Father in heaven does the same for us. He even sent a ‘pillar of cloud’ to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, so that those with little faith among them could see that God was real!
However, it saddens me to see how history repeats itself. From the Old Testament to today’s world, mankind often falls into the snares of pride, greed and disobedience to the Lord, and they cry out to God for help when helpless and stuck in suffering.
God is truly our ‘Protector’ if we obey Him and allow His miraculous work in our lives. God always brings us back to His right path when we go astray. He is kind and generous who leads not by coercion, but through His love and salvation made possible by Jesus’ sacrifice.
Father God, thank You for Your presence and protection despite our blindness. I pray that we can always respond to Your loving invitation by ‘letting Go and letting God’. Soften our hearts to submit our plans to You and obey You always, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
