Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

Exodus 33:7 (ESV)

For Everyone, But Not To Be Taken Lightly Or For Granted

We see that even though the Israelites broke their covenant with God, God remained faithful. God yearned to fellowship with the Israelites through the tent of meeting. Similarly, God our Father in Heaven yearns for our fellowship with Him, made possible through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ. This reminded me of the time that I sinned against God. I happily thanked God that my sin had been atoned for by the blood of Christ and carried on as if nothing had happened. Such is the grace of God! However, in prayer, I got a shocking rebuke from God that I should remember not to take this forgiveness of sin lightly or for granted. A price was paid for by His Son Jesus Christ, so that we can fellowship directly with God our Father in Heaven.

Prayer

I thank You Father in Heaven for Your gracious love for us, by sending Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die for us. Remind us daily not to take lightly or for granted this precious gift that allows us to commune with You and to call You Father. In Jesus' name, Amen.
