Have you ever felt that time went by like an instant when being with someone you value dearly, while it feels like ages waiting for the day to end and go home and spend time with our loved ones? I definitely have! When you enjoy someone’s presence, you can’t help but wish that time never stops. Similarly, David described it vividly in Psalms 84, where he compared one day in the presence of God to a thousand days without God. The presence of God is sacred yet intimate; where God desires to fellowship with us, and for us to interact freely with Him. Jesus has opened the way for us to be in God’s presence. Let us savour this precious privilege by prioritising our quality time with God, whether through prayer, worship, and Bible study and reflection.
Heavenly Father, we want to long and desire for Your presence more than anything. We want to make You an essential need that we can’t spend one day without being in Your presence. Thank You Jesus for giving us access to the presence of God. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
