It is easy to deny our neighbours, our friends, people we know who ask us a favour. They did not give us anything, why should we give them something? The simple answer is that it is not about what they did or did not do, it is about what Jesus gives. When we are far from Jesus, our hearts grow independent and calculating; we simply forget what grace even means. Grace is what God gave us when we were still blind to Him, the world, and ourselves. Grace is what God promises to all who turn back to Him. Grace is what transforms lives, brings us to higher purposes, and protects us from the behaviour that used to drive ourselves and other people around us nuts.
Dear Father, may Your presence in us be magnified. Let us see what You are doing, how You are guiding us and to feel Your grace even more strongly. When our hearts are aligned with Yours, it becomes effortless to obey. Thank You for You never let us go. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
