Hebrews 12 : 1 ( ESV)
A huge crowd of faithful people who have gone before us to heaven are cheering us on as we run our own race of faith on earth. Hebrew 12:1 urges us to throw off everything that hinders our progress and run the race God has set out for us with perseverance. How do we do that? By keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith. When we reach the finishing line, we’ll get to celebrate with Jesus and our supporters in the cloud of witnesses. What a great time that will be!
Father God, thank You for the people of great faith and for all brothers and sisters who chose to trust You even when facing intense challenges. Help us to stand up for what is right, overcome our fears and rely on Jesus for help during suffering, and to live with love and purpose. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
