In solidarity with fellow Hong Kongers, my heart swelled with pride as I fervently cheered for our city's athletes during the recent Asian Games in Hangzhou. Much like the dedicated athletes striving for victory, we, too, are engaged in a different kind of race—a spiritual one. We must prepare ourselves daily with discipline and commitment.
Consider our faith like a swimmer's arms, navigating the turbulent waters of life's uncertainties.
Envision our resolve as a shield, deflecting the enemy's fiery assaults. Picture our self-control as trained muscles, enabling us to swiftly evade temptation's grasp. In this training, we realise a profound truth: it's not about our glory, but about honouring the One who equips us.
Are we diligently cultivating our spiritual stamina? Are we surrendering every victory, every struggle, and every moment to the One who deserves our ultimate praise? Let us train not merely for our own sake but to bring glory to the Creator who sustains us.
Lord Jesus, grant us strength for our spiritual training. May every moment, every discipline, glorify Your name. In our journey of discipline, may Your name be exalted. Amen.
