Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity.
Psalm 133:1 (ESV)
After Solomon's reign, God was saddened to see the land split into two, Israel and Judah. The spilt was due to selfishness which bought sadness to God and the people, and eventually led them to exile in Babylon. As a father of four, the greatest joy is to see my children work together for a common goal and in peace. On my wife's last birthday, it was a joy to see my children working together in unity to please my wife. They worked together in unity putting aside what each of them wanted to do and instead what they wanted to do together. Similarly, when we are in full accord and of one mind, not only will we experience great joy, but God will rejoice over us with gladness.
Father in Heaven, I thank You for giving us true joy everlasting. Change our hearts to build each other up in love and in unity. I pray that You open our eyes to see what You see, so that we dwell together in joy. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
