It never crossed my mind until recently that the game of musical chairs is a test of our humility. As a kid, it was hard to give up a seat when you’re fighting for one with your opponent. In Philippians 2:5 – 6, we are called to conform our mind to be like Jesus Christ who humbled and emptied Himself to be one of us. Romans 12:2 also commanded us to not be conformed according to this world, but to be transformed by the renewal of our old mind. How can we achieve this? By letting go of our pride, our old and fleshly mind, and to let God transform our heart and mind to be more like Christ which will be expressed outwardly through our actions. This is what true repentance and following Christ is all about!
Heavenly Father, I pray that from today, my mind is no longer conformed to what the world thinks is right, but to conform according to Your character that is based on love and humility. Only You can transform my heart and mind. Change me from the inside out. In Christ precious name I pray, Amen.
