Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
Philippians 3:12(ESV)
Instead of claiming himself perfect, Paul pressed on to a life-long pursuit of imitating Jesus. To press on is to move forward forcibly and steadily or to continue to do something in a determined way – no backing off, no looking back. Let’s shift our life focus to what lies ahead and be exhorted to press on, in the proclamation of Christ, standing firm in unity for the gospel, interceding for each other, in humility and the deep reverence of God, holding fast to the word of life, seeking righteousness through faith in Christ, and rejoicing in the Lord – all towards the goal of an eternal life with Christ.
In Jesus’ name, I cut the tie with our past and prior mistakes and release the divine visions and thoughts into our spirit and mind which direct our race towards the reward of Christ. Thank You, Jesus. Amen!
