Reflection
To be conformed to the image of Jesus can be a painful but necessary process. As Christians, we naturally want to do good but fail many times, leading to Paul’s conclusion, “Wretched man that I am!” (Romans 7:24). God knows this, that is why He gave us the power to overcome, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to be renewed in the spirit of our minds. However, because we have free will, this requires us to consciously make a decision to deny ourselves. This conscious denial allows God to show His glory through the power of the Holy Spirit. What a gentleman God is!
Prayer
Father in Heaven, I thank You that we are Your adopted sons and fellow heirs with Christ. Thank You for setting us free through all things that work together for good, because we know that we are being prepared for Your purpose, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
