Reflection
In these verses, Paul is talking about giving. He uses the churches in Macedonia as the example, and points to the goal of helping the struggling believers in Jerusalem. Paul’s example shows that giving is not about how much you have. It’s about a heart that has firstly been changed by God’s grace.
Grace produces joy, and joy produces generosity. Giving starts from the heart, not the wallet. Like the Macedonians, you don’t need to wait until you have "extra". Give joyfully out of what you do have — money, encouragement, skills, food.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the grace You have shown me through Jesus. Though He was rich, He became poor for me. Teach me to have a generous heart like Jesus, to give the way the Macedonians did, not out of compulsion, but out of joy and love for You. Remind me that You are my provider, open my eyes to the needs around me. Let my life reflect Your generosity so others may see You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
