Reflection
Recently the choir sang a song called “They Hung My Lord”. I have sung this song many times during the choir practices. However, one day, the lyrics of the song just spoke to me as we study the Gospel of John. It says:
“If you believe Jesus died and rose, put your trust in the risen Lord,
Then you will find you are captive no more. Because He lives, He’ll set you free.”
It just caused me to ponder about whether I have truly put my trust in Christ. John 20:31 states that his purpose for writing is “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” True biblical faith is not simply a matter of mental belief or recognition; it is a heartfelt response of active trust by which we surrender control of our lives to Christ and continue to follow God’s word and purposes.
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, we confess that You are our Lord and our God! May we truly trust You and surrender every area of our lives to You. Amen.
