Reflection
God commanded the prophet Elijah to go to Zarephath, where a destitute widow would provide for him. Facing famine, the widow had only a handful of flour and a little oil left for her final meal with her son. Yet when Elijah asked her to bake bread for him first, she obeyed in faith. Her wise obedience trusting God's word over her desperate circumstances unlocked a miracle: "the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry".
Wise obedience means prioritising God's instructions even when logic or fear screams otherwise. It is not blind compliance but trusting surrender to the One who provides. Like the widow, when we obey amid scarcity, whether resources, time, or strength, God multiplies what little we have. True wisdom begins with reverent submission to His voice.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, grant me the courage to obey You wisely, even in lack. Help me trust Your provision as the widow did. Multiply my small offerings for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
