You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared.

Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor.

 Ezekiel 28:12b-13, 17a (ESV)

Glory Be to God

Reflection Success can be overwhelming, and like the devil, we can end up basking in our own glory and forgetting where that glory comes from. Boasting of what we have achieved does nothing to glorify God but instead glorifies our ego. As a teacher I often believe that I have the answers to everything and that my answers are always correct. However, I have now learned to swallow my pride however hard it may be because maybe my students do know more than me. This happened in the past when I kept on telling a student that it can’t be done, it won’t work. I was proven so wrong; the student even went on to win a prize for his ideas.
Prayer Father in Heaven, I thank You for the strength that You have given us. Let us not forget where our power comes from and that without Christ we have nothing in Jesus’ name. Amen.
