Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

John 12:24 (ESV)

“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

Matthew 16:24 (ESV)

Crucifying the Flesh

Reflection The kind of suffering which really matters is righteous suffering; suffering for the sake of righteousness and for the glory of God. The Bible says in Galatians 5:24 – "And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."

Following Jesus Christ requires crucifying the flesh completely. Crucifying the flesh, is putting the flesh to death. The spirit comes fully alive at the death of our flesh.
Prayer Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your grace and mercy that abound in our lives. By the help of Your Holy Spirit, we put our flesh to death daily for Your glory while our spirit remains alive and aglow in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
