Reflection
Jesus is the door. To step through this door is to cross the line that separates life and death. Yet, though everyone who enters has life, not all have it abundantly.
The way to abundant life is not only to acknowledge Jesus as the door but to relate to Him as our Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd knows His sheep intimately and they know Him. He speaks, they listen; He leads, they follow – not out of obligation, but love. He protects and provides as a faithful companion; His flock abides in His peace, trusting in His goodness. He leads His sheep into perfect rest; they no longer strive for performance. When we respond rightly to who Jesus is, we find ourselves no longer just having life, but living it abundantly.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the abundant life through Jesus. Forgive us for not honoring Him as He deserves and settling for a life that falls short of the fullness You offer. Please help us to respond in love and worship, living as You created us to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
