Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked… but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water…

Psalm 1:1–3a (ESV)

Slowing Down to Grow

Reflection Life moves fast, and every single day throws a choice our way: what are we letting shape our thoughts? Psalm 1 shows a vivid picture of what happens when we choose wisely—we become like trees planted right beside a steady stream, grounded and full of life.

Real growth doesn't happen overnight or by pure luck; it comes from spending quiet time with God and letting His truth sink deep into our hearts. The Hebrew word for meditate, hagah, simply means to softly murmur or ponder something over and over. When we quiet the noise around us and linger on His promises, we start to build real resilience. We stop chasing empty success and start bearing good fruit right where we are, fully connected to His bigger purpose for our lives.
Prayer Lord, help me slow down and root my heart in Your truth today. When the world feels noisy, teach me to delight in Your Word and rest in Your loving presence. Keep me growing, grounded, and bearing good fruit for You. Amen.
