Reflection
Jesus restores what is broken through deep transformation of the heart. From Eden to the New Jerusalem, Scripture tells the story of restoration and redemption: God reversing the curse and making all things new.
Our story is no different when we are in Christ. Our wounds and failures can become the very material God uses to create something new. The Gospel is about both forgiveness and restoration.
Scripture repeatedly assures us of God’s restoring power. Joel 2:25 speaks of restoring years lost to devastation. 1 Peter 5:10 promises that God will restore, strengthen, and establish us after suffering. Psalm 51 highlights restored joy, while Jeremiah 30:17 promises healing. Job’s story demonstrates God’s abundant restoration.
God is still shaping us to become more like Christ. Where we see brokenness, He sees a work in progress. If we are still breathing, He is still working. Whatever has been lost, our God makes all things new. In Christ, we are a new creation.
Prayer
Lord, though I may feel broken, I know You can make all things new. Help me focus on Your promises and meditate on Your Word. Continue Your restoring work in me until it is complete. Amen.
