Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David said to Michal, “It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.

2 Samuel 6:14, 21-22 (ESV)

Unconstrained Worship

Reflection As believers, we are to value honouring God far above maintaining our own social status or class. True worship holds nothing back; it disregards social awkwardness and focuses entirely on God. After all, we are God’s children and purposely created to worship and bring glory to God.

Therefore, as Christians, we are not to observe human protocols and diplomacies in worship. No shyness or fear but a totally surrendered and contrite heart in worship, where the focus is not the people around us but only on God Almighty.
Prayer Heavenly Father, by your Spirit, help us daily to render unconstrained, unconditional and pure worship to you. Purify our hearts always by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
