They said to her,  “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them,  “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher).

 John 20:13-14, 16 (ESV)

Hallelujah, Jesus Reigns!

Reflection Jesus cares deeply that we have life and have it abundantly. When Jesus overturned the tables in the temple, it symbolised the Holy Spirit’s cleansing of our bodies, which are the temple of God. The cleansing and chipping away of our old self lead to true repentance so that we may take up the cross and follow Jesus.

Jesus was delivered over to death. His resurrection was the sign that Jesus was the one to usher in the new covenant of grace - the “best wine”.

Death has lost its sting. Hallelujah, Jesus is the triumphant King!
Prayer Abba Father, I thank You that the Spirit of God who resurrected Jesus from the dead is the same Spirit that lives in me. May Christ’s victory empower me to overcome sin. I want to bear fruit of an abundant life to preach the gospel and glorify my Father in heaven. Amen.
