Reflection
When Paul uses the phrase “in Christ”, he refers to those who are in a right relationship with Jesus through faith in Him. Such individuals are united with Christ, identifying with His death to sin and His resurrection to a new life. Life without Christ’s grace, undeserved favour, love, and enabling power results in defeat, misery and slavery to sin. Our own rebellious way separates us from God and brings spiritual and eternal death. Life in Christ frees us from condemnation, guilt, separation from God, and eternal punishment; we have victory over sin. Peace with God comes through a personal relationship with Jesus. This will bring the presence of the Holy Spirit into a Christian’s life.
Prayer
I surrender my schedule, my relationships, my work, and my future to You. I choose to walk in the Spirit today, not gratifying the desires of the flesh, but bearing fruit that glorifies You. Thank You, Lord, that You are faithful. I receive Your filling now, not by feelings, but by faith in Your Word. Take my life and let it be consecrated to You. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!
