Reflection
Paul’s challenge to the Corinthians and us is this: stop judging others and start examining ourselves. The real issue isn’t who is right or wrong but it’s whether Jesus truly lives in you. When we focus on self-examination, we remove the biases that break relationships. Paul calls us to rejoice, comfort one another, live in peace and aim for restoration. When we put on Jesus, we gain the courage to take relational risks and heal what’s broken. Jesus removes every obstacle between our relationships, and His peace leads us to restore others.
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, help us to stop looking at others and to start looking inward. Reveal to us where we need to repent and give us courage to deal with our own sins before we point fingers at others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
