Reflection
As believers of Christ, God calls us to Himself. We are given a new identity in Christ, the power to live out a life of transformation in faith to follow Him. It is an ongoing journey of sanctification through Christ who has given us the power to overcome sin, to understand and delight in His ways and be in alignment with Him. As Billy Graham once said, “Becoming a Christian is the work of a moment; being a Christian is the work of a lifetime.” Jesus warns us against complacency and compromise in pivotal moments of glory. Just like Solomon who started well but fell drastically, the Lord reminds us to abide in Him and not to give in and be consumed by fleshly desires or the idols in our lives. It is in these moments of compromise, self-gratification or pride that the enemy has the access to invade our God-given lives to deceive, kill and destroy, luring our hearts away from loving Christ.
Prayer
Jesus, we come to You today. May anything that comes to steal Your rightful place in our hearts be removed. May You take Lordship over our lives that many shall encounter You wherever we go. Amen.
