Reflection
Paul is talking about suffering now versus glory later. He starts by putting our problems in perspective. What we go through now hurts, but it’s tiny compared to what God is doing with our present struggles to prepare for future glory. God has a plan, and it involves His children. We are God’s sons and daughters; that’s our identity.
Therefore, we can live with hope, not despair; like a son and daughter of God and be able to care for God’s creation and people. Our life is a preview of what is coming. More importantly, we must keep our eyes on Jesus and wait with hope. The “revealing” happens when Christ returns. So, our response is faithfulness today, trusting that God will finish what He has started in us.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help us to live today as Your sons and daughters, so that others can see You in us. Help us to show kindness, truth, and hope to people around us. While we wait for You to make everything new, mould us into people who bring Your love and light to a broken world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
