Reflection
In John 15:5, Jesus makes a profound statement: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” This declaration underscores the complete dependence believers must have on Christ. Just as the branches are incapable of producing fruit without being connected to the vine, we are powerless to fulfill God's purposes and bear fruit if we do not abide in Christ and continuously rely on the Holy Spirit. As we walk by the Spirit, spending time in God’s presence as a daily habit, the Spirit trains our hearts to desire what pleases God. We experience the empowerment of the Spirit to also overcome the desires of the flesh.
Prayer
Father God, thank You that Christ has set us free and given us power over sin. As we walk by the Spirit daily, may we grow in faith and obedience, bearing much spiritual fruit for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
