Reflection
Abundant life in Christ is a life of freedom and intimacy with God. The enemy’s main weapon against it is deception. He doesn’t usually deny God’s word outright; instead, he twists it to plant doubt and appeal to our desires.
Deception mixes truth with lies and targets our identity and longings. What looked pleasing to the eye promised wisdom and freedom, but resulted in separation from God. I’ve felt that pull myself. Maybe you have too.
But here’s the good news. God hasn’t left us defenseless. He offers us wisdom through the fear of the Lord, a deep reverence and loving obedience that anchors our hearts to Him. Jesus showed us how to defend ourselves. When temptation came, He didn’t argue or negotiate. He stood on God’s Word.
And by His grace, we can do the same.
Prayer
Lord, give me discernment to recognize deception. Root me in Your Word, teach me to fear You, and help me choose wisely every day. I want to walk in freedom and fruitfulness. In Jesus’ Mighty Name we pray, Amen.
