Reflection
Some things can be repaired, but my “old self” isn't one of them. Ephesians 4:22-24 teaches that transformation requires removal, not renovation.
First, I must “put off” the old self—the one corrupted by habits, attitudes, and behaviours that are self-destructive and inconsistent with Christ’s teachings.
Between "taking off" and "putting on" lies verse 23: “be renewed in the spirit of your minds.” This is the “bridge” between the old and the new. I must allow God to reshape my heart and mind with His truth.
Finally, I can “put on” the new self, not something I can manufacture, but a gift reflecting God’s righteousness and holiness.
Transformation is not a one-time event but a daily decision to trade my old patterns for new virtuous ones.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I confess I often try to "patch up" what I should release. Renew my mind and help me catch deceitful desires before they take root. Thank You for seeing me as a beloved new creation, not a project to be fixed. I rest in Your grace and choose to walk in my new identity today—one decision at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
