Reflection
I always thank God for how my mother used to encourage me with Scripture, such as Psalms 23 and 121, whenever we spoke or through her messages. I remember a time when she wasn’t well and my siblings and I became so worried about her. Seeing our despair, she shared John 14:27 with us, saying that we have God’s peace and we should not let our hearts be troubled. Instead of us comforting her, she was the one who comforted us! Her words so comforted me that I shared with my daughter and Kingdom Group, who were in turn comforted.
Truly, God enables us to comfort others with the comfort we have received.
Prayer
Father God, we praise You for You are the God of all comfort. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit and Your Word, which comfort and counsel us in times of trouble and suffering. May we always look to You and find comfort and hope, knowing that You walk alongside us. May we comfort others with the same comfort You have given us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
