Reflection
The enemy often presents himself as an angel of light, offering a counterfeit freedom. From the very beginning in the garden of Eden, he has tried to plant doubt about God’s motives, promoting a freedom that means independence from God—the freedom to do whatever we want. Galatians 5:13–14 says that we are to use that freedom to serve God by serving others, for we are created in Christ Jesus for good works (Ephesians 2:10). This is true freedom: the ability to love our neighbours as ourselves.
There are many practical ways to serve. We can start with our own family. We can join a Kingdom Group to care for fellow believers spiritually, serve through Manna Ministry, or reach out to our friends with God’s love, so they can taste His goodness.
Let us use the freedom we have in Christ to love people and walk by the Spirit, so that we will not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
Prayer
Father God, thank You for setting me free in Christ Jesus, so that I can live according to Your purpose. Teach me to use that freedom to love others as You do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
