fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)

Heavenly Fear vs Earthly Fear

Reflection I believe there are two kinds of fear: heavenly fear and earthly fear. Heavenly fear is a healthy reverence for our Abba Father. Earthly fear is a destructive spirit of anxiety and terror.

The fear of the Lord does not mean being afraid of God. It refers to profound respect, awe, and submission to His holiness. Described as the "beginning of wisdom", it means acknowledging God's vastness and choosing to live in alignment with His will.

The Bible commands believers not to be afraid of worldly threats or circumstances such as death, sickness, pain, loneliness, financial uncertainty and so on. Passages like Isaiah 41:10 and 2 Timothy 1:7 explain that God provides strength, courage, and a sound mind to overcome anxiety and panic.

The only way we can overcome is by adopting a spirit of victor versus victim; a spirit of sonship versus slavery.

Let us surrender, trust, repent, give thanks, and keep praying.
Prayer Father God, Creator of all. I surrender myself to You and trust Your perfect plan for me. Thank You for walking ahead of me and being my rear guard. I need not fear, but trust in Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
