Reflection
Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” describes a fundamental reality of life: the necessity of choosing between different paths. Indeed, such decisions range from very basic things like what to eat, to significant choices like what we want to become. These decisions have consequences for various aspects of our lives, including the spiritual. This is why the Psalmist (in Psalm 1) invites us to make a clear choice between two paths in life: the path of righteousness that leads to blessings, and the path of wickedness that leads to destruction. Today, let us choose the path of righteousness and meditate upon God’s word day and night. Like Frost, who chose between “two roads diverged in a yellow wood”, let us take the righteous path—the one usually “less traveled by”—and experience a rooted, productive, and prosperous life in Christ.
Prayer
Lord, we submit our will to You, our Saviour and Master. Guide us in our daily choices, that our lives will be pleasing to You. Grant us the grace to meditate upon Your word day and night, so that we may experience Your goodness, in Jesus' name. Amen.
