Reflection
Psalm 24 is a hymn of exaltation that directs our hearts to worship God in a manner that acknowledges His glory as Creator, Holy and King. It was written when King David was bringing the ark of the covenant (which signifies the presence of God) to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 6).
King David wanted God to be in his midst more than anything. God’s presence is what matters the most. We cannot treat Him casually or lightly. Just as David is the shepherd boy turned king, let us remember that Jesus Christ is not only our Good Shepherd but the King of Glory! May Psalm 24 cause us to celebrate and seek God and approach Him with holy fear and reverence.
Prayer
Father God, thank You that we belong to You and we can have clean hands and pure hearts because of Jesus’ finished work on the cross. May we seek Your face continually and know Your grace. Amen.
