Reflection
On Palm Sunday we remember the crowds waving branches and shouting “Hosanna!” as Jesus rode in on a donkey, signaling that our King had come. Just days later, many of the same voices cried “Crucify Him!” because He didn’t meet their expectations.
Jesus knew the cross awaited Him. He came on purpose to die for our sins and obey the Father’s plan. When Pilate asked if He was king, Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. I came to testify to the truth.”
Pilate knew Jesus was innocent, yet he chose the crowd’s approval over truth and handed Him over.
Jesus, our King, has a kingdom that is different, built on grace and truth, not popularity or comfort.
Prayer
Jesus, You are my King. Thank You for going to the cross for me. Forgive me when I want You on my terms. Help me trust You even when You don’t meet my expectations. Let me value Your approval more than anyone else’s. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Draw my heart close to Yours today. I choose You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
