You may find it difficult to help your children/adolescents cope with their emotional and/or behavioral issues, as they may not be able to verbalize their thoughts and feelings well as adults do.
Play & Art Counselling Service applies non-directive therapeutic play skills with the use of creative media and person-centered rationale to help those ages 4 – 13 to play out their feelings and problems so that they may be able to exercise better self-regulation in their daily living.
Play & Art Counselling Service will be conducted by our contract counsellor, Ms. Kit Cheung, who has acquired the Master of Arts in Professional Counseling degree and is trained in Play Skills. She is an HKPCA Certified Counsellor, a Certified Play Therapist and Certified Clinical Supervisor under Play Therapy UK. It includes an intake session with parent/guardian for pre-therapy assessments and arrangements. A series of 12 therapy sessions with the child/adolescent in the first stage is recommended to give ample time for the therapeutic process and lasting change to come. Should it be continued after the first stage, it can be appended at 6-sessions intervals. Moreover, review sessions with the parent/guardian may also be arranged at the end of the 6th, 10th and 12th sessions should it be desired to keep track of the progress of the child/adolescent.
It is available in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
