The word "ascribe" is not very common in ordinary use. It has the idea of attributing a characteristic or trait to someone; recognizing, assigning, acknowledging something valuable to be true about that person. The psalmist uses this word to remind us to humbly recognize the surpassing, amazing, awesome glory of God. God is incomparable and worthy of our worship. Don't take him lightly.

"Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness." – Psalm 29:1-2 ‭‬‭(English Standard Version)

"Lord in Heaven, I come to you today in humility and adoration. You are the very personification of love, power, glory, holiness and wisdom. You are the Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end of all things. Thank you for extending your grace and mercy to me in countless ways each day. I love you, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen."
